Grace Luer
Resident Physiotherapist, MSc.PT, BSc.Kin
I am a Dalhousie University graduate. I completed my both my Masters of Science in Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University.
I was born in the UK, grew up just outside of Vancouver, BC, and have called Halifax home for over a decade.
I am currently completing the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) Physiotherapy Program through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and will be working toward completing my Fellowship in Manipulative Physiotherapy with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. I also have completed my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course and coached CrossFit throughout my undergraduate degree.
I have a strong interest in working with athletes, particularly those involved in functional fitness and strength sports. I believe exercise is one of the most powerful tools we have as physiotherapists, and I integrate my knowledge and experience as both a strength athlete and coach into my practice every day. I have the opportunity to blend these two worlds by working with clients in a gym setting at our satellite clinic located within Ironstone Strength and Conditioning.
In my practice, I take an individualized and collaborative approach to care. I incorporate specific, progressive exercise prescriptions tailored to each client’s goals, abilities, and life demands, alongside hands-on manual therapy and clear, practical patient education. I believe understanding the root cause of pain or injury is just as important as knowing how to address it, and I aim to empower clients with the knowledge and confidence to take an active role in their rehabilitation while doing my best to help them navigate how to incorporate this into their busy lives.
I enjoy working with a diverse group of people — from high-level athletes to those new to exercise, from individuals managing persistent pain to those returning to sport or activity after injury. My goal is always to meet clients where they are, create a supportive and inclusive environment, and help them move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
Outside of the clinic, I have a deep love for strength training, running, spending time outdoors, and travelling. I have been a CrossFit athlete for over 10 years, and have also competed in Olympic Weightlifting at the national level.
