Julie Gates
PT, CAMPT Certified
Originally from Ottawa, I moved to Halifax and earned my Masters of Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2015. Throughout my clinical career I have been fortunate enough to gain experience in many different areas of physiotherapy, with a strong focus in orthopaedics, post-operative rehabilitation, osteoarthritis, and sport and work-related injuries.
My desire to help my patients reach their goals and keen interest in orthopaedic physiotherapy led me to take many post-graduate courses. In 2019, I completed the Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and obtained a Fellowship in the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT).
Having completed this post-graduate education, I attained internationally recognized qualifications in manual therapy. I am an advocate of a research guided hands-on approach and believe manual therapy, personalized exercise prescription, and education is the most effective strategy to help my patients recover sooner and stay healthier.
When not in the clinic, I enjoy running, skiing, and exploring my new home on the east coast!
